KAMLOOPS – The family of a 62-year-old woman who went missing in Kamloops last month is pleading with the public for any possible tips.

Thelma Vaughan’s car was found on East Shuswap Road by the Lafarge Bridge in Kamloops on Feb. 7, but it’s believed to have been parked there since Feb. 4.

Since then, her family has been seeking any answers into Vaughan’s disappearance, including why she was in the area on Feb. 4 to begin with.

Vaughan’s daughter and son-in-law, Natasha and Frank Linteris, spoke with iNFOnews.ca shortly after they learned Vaughan had gone missing. They say she was last seen on surveillance footage leaving her apartment building at approximately 8:37 p.m. on Feb. 4.

There has so far been nothing pointing to why Vaughan would have been leaving her apartment at this time of night, or why she would be heading to the Lafarge area.

Police originally said the area was used by cross-country skiers and hikers, although it wasn’t known if that’s what Vaughan set out to do.

The Linterises have said that all of Vaughan’s skiing equipment was still at our home, and it would have been abnormal for her to venture out at that time of night.

The family is once again asking the public to check their dash cameras and surveillance footage if they were in the area that evening, or have a home or business in that area.

Natasha says a business did provide some video footage, but the cameras are too far away from the road to capture anything.

She’s still hoping someone saw something that evening and will come forward to report it.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie said earlier this week that foul play is not suspected in this case, and when the snow melts another physical search will be conducted of the river and the area where her vehicle was found.

If you believe you have any information that could help call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
