🚨 Missing Woman in Maple Ridge, British Columbia — Jessica Cunningham, 43
Homicide investigators in B.C. have been deployed to Maple Ridge for an ongoing missing person investigation involving a 43-year-old woman.
According to a statement from the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, Ridge Meadows RCMP attended the 22800 block of Gillis Place on Tuesday, August 26 to gather information connected to the disappearance of Jessica Cunningham.
Since criminality is now suspected, the scene was cordoned off for a significant amount of time on Tuesday. IHIT detectives were contacted and have been working side by side with Ridge Meadows RCMP and the Integrated Forensic Identification Service (IFIS).
IHIT has now confirmed their deployment is linked to Cunningham’s disappearance.
As a result of the investigative efforts on August 26, police located human remains. At this time, IHIT is working closely with the B.C. Coroners Service to confirm the identity of the remains.
On Wednesday, August 27, the BC Prosecution Service laid a charge of indignity to human remains against Mylie Barron in relation to this investigation. At this time, he remains in custody.
Based on initial information, Jessica was last seen in June 2025. She was reported missing in July 2025 and the Ridge Meadows RCMP began a missing persons investigation and have been actively working to locate her.
“Investigators are working diligently to understand the circumstances surrounding Jessica’s disappearance,” says S/Sgt. David Lee, IHIT Media Relations Officer. “Investigators are releasing her name and photo and seeking assistance to build a timeline of her activity leading up to the missing persons report.”
IHIT is responsible for investigating homicides, suspicious deaths, and high-risk missing persons where criminality is suspected.
