A couple and their five-year-old son have been found safely after they were reported missing for nearly three weeks, according to Waterloo police.
The family was last seen on Sept. 1 in the area of Doon Road and Rockway Drive.
They were reported leaving a residence in a ride share to visit an unknown friend at an unknown location, police said, adding that they left two other children, aged 12 and 14, at the residence.
On Friday, police said the couple and their son were found safely in Saskatoon and were staying with friends, after a tip from a member of the public. They thanked the public for their help in locating the family and said an investigation by Waterloo’s Missing Persons Unit was ongoing.
The family first arrived in Toronto on Aug. 6 from Vietnam and later left for Kitchener to spend time with family friends, according to police.
