The human remains found on Morley Road in Cape Breton have been officially confirmed to be Justin MacDonald.
In a release sent Thursday around 4 p.m., Cape Breton Regional Police said the autopsy results have confirmed the remains found to be those of the 38-year-old North Sydney man who was last seen on July 7, 2024.
“With the work of the Medical Examiner’s Office now complete, police can confirm the remains discovered near Morley Road earlier this week are identified as Justin MacDonald,” said police spokesperson Desiree Magnus.
“Autopsy results have confirmed the manner of death is a homicide. Our thoughts remain with Justin’s family and friends during this difficult time.”
Morley Road is open again after being barricaded for a police investigation on Monday evening.
