The body of a Saanich man missing for more than a year was discovered last week while police were searching a dwelling in a mobile home park on Songhees Reserve lands in Esquimalt.
Kielan Hall, 23, had last been seen leaving a residence near Cooper and Admirals roads in March 2024, the RCMP said Tuesday.
Officers were doing a search related to a drug trafficking investigation on May 14 when the discovery of human remains led them to get an additional search warrant for the same property.
Hall’s death is being investigated by the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit.
Police said no further details will be released.
Shortly after his disappearance, Hall’s mother, Lori Hall, said her son last sent a Snapchat message to a friend on March 14, 2024.
“He was in a living room or bedroom and did not look well.”
