Sooke RCMP says the body of 46-year-old Scia’new First Nation’s woman has been discovered and she is deceased.
Raymona Peter was last seen walking west from the Beecher Bay area of East Sooke on the morning of September 30.
In a short release Friday night, Sooke RCMP says criminality is not suspected in her death and no further information will be released.
After Peter was reported missing, a massive search of the area was launched involving the Juan de Fuca Search and Rescue, RCMP, marine search and rescue, dog teams and a helicopter.
That search was called off on Saturday after the RCMP started receiving tips that Peter might be in downtown Victoria.
The family said none of those sightings were confirmed.
Police did not say where her body was found.
