Police in The Pas, Man., have confirmed that the body discovered near the Saskatchewan River on Monday afternoon is that of Jayden Mercredi, a 22-year-old who had been reported missing.
The body was found close to 1st Street East in the northern Manitoba community. The RCMP and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are conducting an investigation while waiting for autopsy results to determine the cause of death.
Mercredi was reported missing on March 8, and Manitoba RCMP expressed concern about his well-being.
