Ten days after 31-year-old Chelsea Cardno went missing, a body has been found near Mission Creek. However, Mounties can’t yet confirm if it is Cardno.
On Friday, just after 5 p.m. near Spiers and Berard roads, a farm owner reported finding a body on their flooded property near Mission Creek.
Early last week Cardno went missing upstream from that location. She was last seen when she left with her German shepherd dog, J.J., for a walk.
Cardno’s vehicle was found in that area and a full-scale search began which included Mounties and the Central Okanagan Search and Rescue.
Cardno’s family has been informed of the discovery and the BC Coroners Service is en route.
“Out of respect for the family and close friends of Chelsea Cardno, the RCMP request that the public avoid the area,” a statement reads.
The coroners service will now conduct an investigation.
