The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said Friday the human remains found earlier this week near Minerals Road and the former talc mine in Conception Bay South are that of missing person Anna Gaulton.
Gaulton, 79, was last seen Aug. 8 in the Kelligrews area of the town.
The remains were found Tuesday.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner positively identified the remains on Friday.
In a news release release, the RNC said the investigation is ongoing and its working with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death.
