An Amber Alert for a four-month-old boy allegedly abducted by his mother from Langley on Thursday night has been cancelled.
Langley RCMP said the child had been recovered and was safe.
Police were notified just before 5 p.m. that the child’s mother had taken him to Langley Memorial Hospital.
Earlier Friday, Langley RCMP held a press conference, saying police were “deeply concerned” for the boy’s safety.
Cpl. Zynal Sharoom said the boy’s mother did not have permission to have the boy, and Mounties had spoken with the child’s father who was cooperating with police.
The mother was believed to have entered a home in the 7200-block of 2018 and taken the boy, before leaving on foot.
The Langley Serious Crime Unit was leading the investigation and officers were canvassing the area and following up on multiple tips.
The RCMP’s Air 1 and Search and Rescue helicopter were also assisting in the search along with search and rescue crews.
RCMP said the circumstances surrounding the alleged parental abduction remained under investigation.
