The remains of Jay’siiah Webb-Long, a 16-year-old from Brampton, Ontario who had been missing for more than a year, have been found near Pelican Narrows, Saskatchewan. His death is being investigated as a homicide.
The Discovery
SASKATCHEWAN RCMP announced on May 18, 2026 that Webb-Long’s remains were discovered on May 13 during a planned search in the Pelican Narrows area. An autopsy was conducted on May 15 to confirm his identity. His family has been notified.
Background
Webb-Long was last seen on March 27, 2025, leaving his home in Brampton, Ontario. His mother reported him missing to Peel Regional Police after contact through Instagram — which had continued after he left home — stopped on May 16, 2025. At the time of his disappearance, Webb-Long was considered vulnerable and police and his family were concerned for his well-being.
In a news release in September 2025, Saskatchewan RCMP confirmed that Webb-Long had been living in Pelican Narrows around the time of his disappearance. When RCMP attended an address where he was believed to be staying, the home and surrounding community had been evacuated due to wildfires in the area.
