A vigil planned at Gage Park on Thursday to honour and remember Emily Bailey has been postponed because of the weather.
Bailey has been missing for almost a year, and her family has almost given up hope that she will be found alive.
Bailey would be celebrating her 24th birthday today. Instead, her family is anxiously waiting for any news about why she disappeared almost a year ago. “Tonight was about Emily, celebrating her life her birthday, and all the good memories we have of her,” Bailey’s former partner Brandon Hunter said.
Bailey’s family and friends say despite past issues with drugs and homelessness, Emily was trying to turn her life around before she disappeared.
Bailey’s sister, Brittney Bergie says, “I don’t think she voluntarily left… I think something happened to her… I know for a fact she wouldn’t leave her daughters behind… something bad happened.”
“Emily’s smile could brighten your day… she cared about everyone, especially her daughters,” Hunter said. Bailey’s family and friends are hoping to reschedule the vigil soon.
