Update: We regret to report that Jennifer Chemelli-Magnus, who was reported missing on Dec 30/22, was located deceased this morning. The investigation into her death is still ongoing, however it is considered a non-criminal matter and no further information will be released.
We offer our condolences to her family and friends during this difficult time. The MHPS would also like to thank everyone who assisted with the search for Jennifer.

The Medicine Hat Police Service is seeking the publics further assistance in locating Jennifer Chemelli-Magnus, who was previously reported missing to MHPS. Mrs. Chemelli-Magnus’s family last saw and spoke to her on December 30, 2022.
Since this time the Criminal Investigation Section of MHPS has looked into her disappearance and can confirm that on the early evening of December 30, 2022 at 6:40 pm, she was last seen walking eastbound on 20 Street NE towards 8 Avenue NE. Mrs. Chemelli-Magnus was wearing a black bomber styler jacket, black and white (snakeskin pattern) leggings, black knee-high mukluks with tassels, a white scarf, black shoulder style purse and a black single use plastic bag
MHPS has conducted and is still currently organizing several searches for Mrs. Chemelli-Magnus. These searches have utilized Alberta Search and Rescue as well as HALO air support.
MHPS would ask residents in and around the area of 20 Street NE and 8 Avenue NE to conduct a thorough check of their properties and notify MHPS of anything at may appear suspicious or concerning in nature.
