Amber Alert Ontario tweeted at 8:22 a.m. that Arabella Vienneau “has been located safe.”
Barrie Police said the girl was “located in good health in Toronto by the Toronto Police and arrangements are now underway to return her to Barrie.”
Earlier, Barrie Police communications co-ordinator Peter Leon had said officers were called by a “community based agency” Tuesday when two children were supposed to be at a residence, but only one was present.
Officers conducted a thorough search of the home, but were unable to find the second child.
Arabella had last been seen by a family friend at around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at a home on Tunbridge Rd.
Leon said police didn’t believe Arabella had been abducted, and there was the possibility she may have been dropped off at a friend’s home for a sleepover. However, there was enough concern for her safety to meet Amber Alert criteria.
