A long-haul trucker from the town of Stephenville on west coast of Newfoundland is being reported as missing, and there might be a Cornwall-area connection.
Family members starting on Thursday afternoon started making social media posts that were rapidly being widely-shared, regarding the whereabouts of Brian Lush, 51, a long-haul trucker with the company Downhome Movers and who was last heard from on Wednesday afternoon.
Family members on social media and in telling the story to media outlets say Lush was last seen entering a Petro-Pass truck stop on County Road 27 in Summerstown Station, at Highway 401, on Wednesday.
CJON-DT, branded on-air as NTV, an independent television station in St. John’s, has reported that police in Ontario and Lush’s family are searching, and looking for answers.
Lush is described as 5-foot-11-inches tall, 200 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He last spoke to his family in mid-afternoon on Wednesday. He was wearing blue jeans and a dark blue hoodie and black/grey ball cap.
His family says he went into the store, made a purchase, but hasn’t been seen since. His truck, along with cellphone inside, was left at the truck stop.
Michelle Rice, a friend of the family, said Lush regularly travels between Newfoundland and Alberta, and the work is routine.
“This is very unlike him (to not be in contact with family),” Rice said.
