RCMP say a teen reported missing in Big River, Sask., has been found dead.
Jayden Crookedneck, 17, left a family group on Main Street at around 2 a.m. on Saturday and went walking in the direction of the Big River boat launch, according to police.
It was reported to police that Crookedneck was later seen walking north on Mill Avenue around 2:30 a.m.
He was reported missing by his family, who were concerned for his well-being.
Police said Crookedneck was not dressed to spend a long period of time outside.
Big River RCMP said Crookedneck was found dead on Sunday afternoon.
A cause of death has not been released.
Big River is roughly 230 km north of Saskatoon.
Big River RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 17 year-old Jayden Crookedneck.
Jayden was walking with two family members in Big River on Saturday, at approximately 2:00 a.m., on Main Street. Jaydan left the family group and went in the direction of the Big River boat launch. His family has not heard from him since. Jayden’s family and Big River RCMP have been searching for him since and are worried for his well-being. It was reported to police that Jaydan was later seen walking north on Mill Avenue, at approximately 2:30 a.m., the same night. Police believe he is still in Big River
Jayden Crookedneck is described as an Indigenous 17 year-old male of slim build. He is approximately 6’2″ (188 cm), 170 lbs (77 kg). He has short brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white sweatshirt with a hood and the word Tupac in the front, slim grey pants with cargo pockets and no jacket.
