Police have called off an Amber Alert for a four-year-old girl from Aurora, Ontario.

York Regional Police confirm the child was found in the Pembroke area, after the vehicle she was in rolled.

Police would not confirm whether they had been chasing the Toyota Sienna. The van was allegedly travelling at a high rate of speed when it rolled near the Irving Truck Stop.

“I do know that the OPP were involved and made the arrest, as well as locating the vehicle,” said YRP Const. Any Pattenden. “That’s all I really have at this point in time. Obviously it’s a fluid situation here, so we’re trying to get the updates out here as soon as we can.

Police allege the child’s father abducted her from her mother’s home early Monday morning.

“It was at 4:20 this morning that we got the call and basically he had forced his way through the front door of the residence … He wasn’t living there … so he forced his way in and grabbed her and took her into that Toyota Sienna van that we’d been looking for.”

The man was taken into police custody at the scene.

Pembroke affiliate Star 96.7 reports the child had to be extricated from the vehicle and was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries, but that she was alert and conscious at the time.
