The Kelowna RCMP is pleased to confirm that the 28 year-old woman and 6 year boy reported missing on January 13th, 2019 have been located, and are safe and sound. Thanks to the media and public for your assistance.
Despite a recent social media post from the account of a missing person, Kamloops RCMP continue to investigate the case of a woman and her nephew reported missing in Kamloops earlier this week.
Roseanne Supernault, 28, and her six-year-old nephew Nikaeo Supernault were initially reported missing after Kamloops police received a report to check the well-being of Nikaeo on Sunday, Jan. 13. Police said the mother of the boy had not been in contact with the Roseanne, who had been looking after Nikaeo.
However, Roseanne turned to social media yesterday, Jan. 16, to say her and her nephew are both safe.
“My nephew and I, in fact, went into hiding after he confided seriously distressing allegations to me,” Supernault said in a Facebook post. “Over the holidays my nephew and I were visiting his mother and her in-laws in Kamloops and each day the environment became more hostile.”
Roseanne also says in the post she was not just “watching her nephew” and had been raising him for the past seven months.
