Two teens who were reported missing yesterday have been found safely on the city’s east side.

Saint John police Sgt. Chuck Elgee says the two teens were found in the Golden Grove area.

Elgee says an altercation led to 17-year-old Michael O-Neill being taken into custody.

He’ll appear in court this morning.

15-year-old Shaelynn Harnish will not be facing any charges.

O’Neill was reported missing on December 16, 2016.

Harnish was reported missing on January 4, 2017.




Police in Saint John are asking for the public’s help in locating two missing teenagers who may be together.

Seventeen-year-old Michael O’Neill was reported missing on Dec. 16. Fifteen-year-old Shaelynn Harnish was reported missing on Jan. 4.

Police believe the teens may be travelling together.

O’Neill is described as Caucasian with short brown hair, brown eyes, and a beard. He is five-foot-nine inches tall and weighs 200 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a red hoodie and black pants with grey high-tops.

Harnish is described as Caucasian with brown, shoulder-length hair. She is five-foot-three inches tall and weighs 150 pounds.

She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a maroon top, and a black hoodie.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to contact police.
